I didn't know about this thread, but I knew someone would post the Metallica song. I didn't even listen to metal back then, but that song was still good to me.

How to dimantle a human being.
by eruption inmost of us posters who are here at the moment cant have failed to notice philidephia ponos got a kicking, the guy had a legitamate point, re elders and ms who are still in and who post here.
what was his crime ?
he had the temerity to lable them as hypocrites, which they are.. later on jlp brought pps previous difficultys to light, a fact most posters here were probably ignorant off.. anyway that guy got such a shafting for telling the truth about what happens here, personally i think he should be applauded, because he demonstrated courage in the face of overwhelming adversity, which should help him with dealing with his difficultys in his work place, if he can cope with the adversities he has experienced here, he will have no problems in dealing with his (secular) workplace.. i have only been here for 8 weeks, and within that short timeframe i already see the group dynamics of our time at jwn unfold, i see alliances being forged, the subtle use of language and samantics as posters here seek advantage and seniority, and want to adopt common ground, to advance themselves as leaders and spokesman, this mirrors my 13 years of being a jw, it seems to me that ex elders and servants display the same characteristics, they employed as jw,s and expect them to work here, which they do.doesnt say a lot about jwn.. anyway a young guy, still learning the ropes, gets anhilated here its not much of a recomendation to post is it, ?.

I caught the end of the episode where the blonde dude recieved "his crown." That was messed up, although I wondered whether or not something like that would actually kill someone? That same episode the dwarf recieved his freedom after one knight fought the queen's knight on his behalf. I didn't quite understand it as I came in around the 3/4 mark of the episode. Seems like a pretty good show, although I would have thought the SyFy channel would have this as opposed to HBO.

JWs having children lack faith
by Lore inif you're a witness couple and you choose to have a child together, it means you think armageddon is not going to arrive for at least 9 more months.
and then you'll be nursing it for at least 6 months.. that's almost a year and a half.
if armageddon started within that time: woe to you!.

I co-sign everything you said 100%. I've never understood die hard JWs that decide to have children. The thing that really gets me is, myself personally speaking from the perspective a born-in, why would you have children while being aware how many grow up and don't remain in the religion? Why have a child, only for them to grow up later and have to make the agonizing choice between their family or their sanity over a man made religion? It's not only stupid and shows a lack of faith in key doctrines, but also cruel.

Star Chamber Tactics by the Governing Body (related to Merriman/May)
by Dogpatch inthe following is an excerpt from edmund gruss' "the four presidents," a book that consists of interviews with former high-level officials in the brooklyn headquarters of the watch tower society in brooklyn, who spent years working with the members of the governing body and presidents of the watch tower society.their true identities will be kept hidden likely until they pass on due to family connections still within the wt, but peter gregerson, barbara anderson, ed gruss, and dozens of others including myself personally know these interviewees and can attest to the truthfulness of what they say, based on total harmony with our own experiences which often overlapped.. .
what is a "star chamber?
"wikipedia defines it thusly:.

The GB PLEADED with him up to the night before the morning table announcement (I was sitting at the table shaking, waiting for the announcement, and vowed not to go to breakfast again; though I was a table head and was supposed to) to just "tow the line," so to speak, to just go along with the Franz lynching. People had to be sacrificed. And the WT will use your closest friends to sacrifice you.
Fascinating read, and thanks as always for your insight Randy. Thanks for all the work you've done and continue to do. One thing that stood out to me was this paragraph, about the WT using your closest friends to sacrifice you. It's just like a prison gang. Prison gang shotcallers will often have the closest friend of their potential victim, do the hit. They might do it with a hot-shot, which is a syringe of heroin with enough dope to cause an over-dose. Or get the victim drunk, and then rock him to sleep. Regardless of modus operandi, the intent is always the same, use someone close to eliminate the unsuspecting victim. Its fascinating that "God's chosen organization" does the exact same thing LOL!!

A Thing About Language and Thought Processes...
by AGuest inand particularly old/ancient languages (may you all have peace!)..
some often comment as to why i "speak" as i do when i post certain things.
i received from my lord why that is: according to him, in order for one to understand what certain words/passages meant... and/or what was meant by them... what their speaker/author intended... one has to know something of the language... and the thinking behind the words.

No Room For George
Syl, I thought it went like this........
Now here's a little story, I've got to tell
About three bad brothers, you know so well
It started way back in history
With Adrock, M.C.A., and me, Me Mike D, They had a little horsy named Paul Revere
Just me and my horsy and a quart of beer
Riding across the land, and kicking up sand
Sheriff's posse on my tail cause I'm in demand
One lonely Beastie I be
All by myself, with nobody
The sun is beating down on my baseball hat
The air is gettin' hot, the beer is getting flat
I was lookin' for a girl, I ran into a guy
His name is M.C.A., I said, "Howdy", he said, "Hi"
He told a little story, that sounded well rehearsed
Four days on the run and that he's dying of thirst
The brew was in my hand, and he was on my tip
His voice was hoarse, his throat was dry, he asked me for a sip
He said, "Can I get some?"
I said, "You can't get none!"
Had a chance to run
Pulled out his shotgun
Quick on the draw, I thought I'd be dead
He put the gun to my head and this is what he said,
"Now my name is M.C.A., I've got a license to kill
I think you know what time it is, it's time to get ill
Now what do we have here, an outlaw and his beer
I run this land, you understand, I make myself clear."
We stepped into the wind, he had a gun, I had a grin
You think this story's over but it's ready to begin
Now, "I got the gun, you got the brew
You got two choices of what you can do
It's not a tough decision as you can see
I can blow you away or you can ride with me" I said,
I'll ride with you if you can get me to the border
The sheriff's after me for what I did to his daughter
I did it like this, I did it like that
I did it with a whiffleball bat
So I'm on the run, the cop's got my gun
And right about now, it's time to have some fun
The King Adrock, that is my name
And I know the fly spot where they got the champagne."
We rode for six hours then we hit the spot
The beat was a bumping and the girlies was hot
This dude was staring like he knows who we are
We took the empty spot next to him at the bar
M.C.A. said, "Yippe Yo, you know this kid?"
I said, "I didn't.", but I know he did
The kid said, "Get ready cause this ain't funny
My name's Mike D. and I'm about to get money."
Pulled out the jammy, aimed it at the sky
He yelled, "Stick 'em up!", and let two fly
Hands went up and people hit the floor
He wasted two kids that ran for the door
"I'm Mike D. and I get respect
Your cash and your jewelry is what I expect"
M.C.A. was with it and he's my ace
So I grabbed the piano player and I punched him in the face
The piano player's out, the music stopped
His boy had beef, and he got dropped
Mike D. grabbed the money, M.C.A. snatched the gold
I grabbed two girlies and a beer that's cold. -

Why do the women put up with it?
by JeffT inmy question was sparked by a comment on another board, regarding islamic women.
"exactly; look up the details of the "honor killing" epidemic and the extent to which women are the primary movers and motivators behind the murders is startling.
also, looking at the secular countries that are being threatened by islamic fundamentalism (malaysia, indonesia, egypt, turkey) and woman are at the forefront in returning to wearing the niquab/burka and accepting islamic oppression.

Hmmm..good questions, although speaking from my own experiences in congregations, women don't have it nearly as bad as the men. Not to mention many conservative women are A-OK with their place within the average Kingdom Hall, just like the women in fundamentalist Islamic lands are pushing for a more conservative if not extremist version of Islamic influence throughout the region. I guess its similar to MADD, or Prohibition which if memory serves me correct, both were spearheaded by ultra conservative women reminiscent of Church Lady on SNL.
Speaking from the perspective of a born-in male who was expected to get baptized, expected to run microphones, expected to reach out to become a Ministerial Servant, expected to handle literature, expected to handle territories, expected to give talks away and at home, expected to support the group overseer at the book study as it then existed and expected to oversee the group in his absense, expected to eventually become an Elder, I feel that men are treated more like cattle than the women are. Young men are bred like cattle, and then slaughtered and packaged for consumption by the organization. The WT STudy from yesterday is a perfect example as one of the paragraphs talked about it being acceptable for a brother who's been baptized for a year, to possibly qualify as a Ministerial Servant.
I don't want to take away from the seriousness of what women have to put up with in this organization, but their expectations are less than men in my opinion.
